This pattern along with Simplicity 8013 (see prior post ) was one that I knew I needed in my life the minute I saw it ! My original intent when I saw it was to do View D ..WAIT where are my manners!
Here is the pattern that I used :
So like I said, my original intent was to do View D , but as I was searching for Denim fabric I kept thinking that I wanted more out of the dress ... I wanted a CRISP CLEAN look , that seems to be my thing as of late ... Crip, clean, structure, tailored.....
So that's what kept running thru my mind in the fabric store . I settled on a white stretch denim !
I also purchased some Shir-tailor Interfacing to make sure that my collars where nice and crisp and some cute 1/2 wooden buttons !!
Before I left the store I settled on doing View A and B Combined . I wanted the the denim dress feel but with a Classic Crispness to it !!!
The Pattern was super easy to follow I added 2 inches to the sleeves and I opted out of the sleeve tabs
Im not a huge fan of top stitching and there was plenty of it in this pattern .. but it was a MUST to keep the denim feel ....
I love the results !!
I was torn between wooden buttons and gold ones ..
I'm glad I went with the wooden buttons it kept the dress casual which gives me the option of wearing it to work !
I will be doing another in Blue Jean and shorter.....But this be great will do for the winter !
Until Next Time XOXOXOXO
